Alison E. Blackwell, Colorado Springs Family Lawyer, is an experienced and compassionate Colorado Springs family attorney who specializes in Divorce, Child Support, Restraining Orders, Spousal Support, Parental Rights, Domestic Violence Defense and Post-Decree Litigation.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Biology at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, then earned her Juris Doctorate (JD) at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law.

During her time as a law student at Sturm College Of Law, Alison was the Editor in Chief of the DU Criminal Law Review and the director of judging with the DU Student Trial Lawyers Association. She was also a student attorney with the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office for several semesters before joining the agency full time as a Public Defender.

As a Senior Deputy Public Defender, Arapahoe Office, Alison fiercely represented her clients in the felony division of the 18th Judicial District Court of Colorado.

Alison has tirelessly advocated on behalf of her clients in an assortment of criminal charges including DUI, Domestic Violence, drug charges, felony sexual assault, and first-chaired homicide cases, including juvenile first degree murder.

She always fought vigorously for the best plea deals for her clients, challenged questionable evidence, won a published interlocutory appeal in the Court of Appeals, and tirelessly negotiated with the District Attorney’s Office fighting for her clients’ rights.
