Most of these cases start with a search warrant for a phone, computer, or online account. The warrant can be challenged on probable cause, scope, and how it was carried out.
We bring in independent digital forensics and question who actually used the device or network. These cases can also be charged federally, so we plan with federal sentencing in mind even when the case starts in state court.
